Fung Retailing Group’s Dustin Jones is the latest high-profile speaker to be confirmed for this month’s Retail’s Cutting Edge event in Hong Kong.
Jones will speak about Fung Retailing’s Brand Accelerator platform, which he now heads, and which focuses on smart retail and O2O services for international brands entering China through all consumer channels. He joined the group last November after working with Macy’s for more than 14 years, for the last two of those as MD of the US department store giant’s China operations.
During his tenure at Macy’s the company’s market share grew from US$9 billion and 150 stores to $28 billion and 880 stores.
Jones has developed a strong reputation for understanding consumer trends, building, growing, and profitably leading great brands, and finding sustainable partnerships and business models to drive success.
At Macy’s, he was widely known as an early adopter of digital and omnichannel retail and was an instrumental leader in growing Macys.com to its current size of $7 billion-plus, becoming the fourth largest retail website in the US.
Organised by Inside Retail Asia, Retail’s Cutting Edge will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on January 23, as part of the week-long InvestHK’s StartmeupHK festival.
Over the course of a full day, more than 20 speakers from Hong Kong and abroad will discuss the future of retailing, covering technology, marketing, marketing and social responsibility issues.
