Deliveroo Hong Kong plans to double fleet this year

Food-delivery platform Deliveroo Hong Kong plans to double its fleet of riders to 4000 and reach 6000 restaurant partners by the end of this year.
The announcements formed part of the firm’s business projections for the coming year, indicating a major growth trajectory for the company in Hong Kong. The forecast comes off the back of a year of significant expansion for Deliveroo in Hong Kong.
This year, Deliveroo is also planning give partner restaurants more autonomy as to how they present themselves on the platform, including a self-serve menu tool that enables restaurants to add nutritional information to their menus themselves.
“Deliveroo continues to bring fantastic benefits to everyone in its ecosystem, from riders to restaurant partners to hungry customers, and we foresee another year of exciting growth ahead,” said Deliveroo Hong Kong’s GM Brian Lo.
“Building on the remarkable success of last year, we are aiming to double our number of delivery riders and restaurant partners over the next 12 months. We are confident that this ambitious aim can be achieved, as demand continues to boom in Hong Kong for a great meal delivered fast.”
The expansions would result in Deliveroo taking 40 per cent of the restaurant share in the territory, with the firm aiming to cover 17 out of 18 districts in Hong Kong by the end of the year.
