Sixteen outstanding franchises in Singapore have been awarded at the FLA Awards 2019, organised by Franchising and Licensing Association (FLA).

The recipients of the awards include Benjamin Barker, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, Eimaths, Pezzo, Anytime Fitness, Jumbo Seafood, Seoul Garden, Dancing Crab, i.Jooz, and Global Art.

Held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel, this year’s awards was graced by Sim Ann, senior minister of state at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Communications and Information.

The awards were first launched in 2005 to recognise visionaries who introduce innovative ideas and concepts and distinguish promising businesses and brands which have inspired others towards achieving excellence.

The association says this year’s awards mark a major milestone in their efforts to internationalise local enterprises. Among those efforts include an initiative called Franchise Competence Framework (FCF) aimed at helping 100 local brands expand overseas.

FLA says the initiative is supported by Enterprise Singapore (ESG)´s Local Enterprise and Association Development (LEAD) programme.

“The initiative will focus on the development of a competency framework, building franchise capabilities and facilitating internationalisation efforts of enterprises,” it says.
