Hong Kong’s Lai Sun Group has launched an integrated tourism and entertainment hub located in central Hengqin, an island off Zhuhai.
“Innovative entertainment and leisure experiences are cornerstones of what Novotown looks to deliver, as we provide residents in Zhuhai and Macau with a state-of-the-art entertainment destination unlike any other,” said Novotown MD Larry Leung at the opening ceremony.
“With world-class themed entertainment facilities, Novotown will not only offer more choices for a short getaway within the ‘one-hour lifestyle circle’, but also help to create a ‘one trip, multi-stops’ tourism model within the Greater Bay Area.”
Novotown features a mix of entertainment attractions, key amongst which are Lionsgate Entertainment World, the first international movie theme park in Guangdong Province, as well as the first National Geographic Ultimate Explorer centre in Southern China, which offers 13 family-friendly adventure experiences to visitors, taking them from the far reaches of space to the ocean depths.
Novotown also brings together a mix of retail and dining brands and Hyatt Regency Hengqin.
To commemorate its grand opening, Novotown is holding a “Golden Town” carnival, which runs until January next year. During the celebration, Novotown will be home to four golden interactive installations for guests to take photos with, including “Sparkle Station”, a large LED digital Christmas tree that stands 7.2 metres tall.
