US fast food chain Taco Bell will open in Cyberjaya in Malaysia and Jakarta, in Indonesia imminently.
The store in Jakarta will be the brand’s first flagship in the Asia-Pacific region.
In Malaysia, Disruptive Concepts Restaurant Group will roll out the brand, but the company has not yet disclosed the exact opening date and precise location in the city. Vyberjaya is. atech-centred city between Kuala Lumpur’s capital city and its international airport.
“We are thrilled to finally bring our world-famous crunchy tacos to our Malaysian fans, and look forward to beginning this journey with our incredible partners at Disruptive Concepts Restaurant Group,” Taco Bell has posted on its website.
The Mexican-inspired franchise is owned by Yum! Brands, parent of KFC and Pizza Hut. In Asia, franchisors will sell Taco Bell staples such as tacos, burritos and other classic Mexican foods.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s “strong food culture, adventurous spirit and appetite for trying new things make it an ideal market for Taco Bell,” Ankush Tuli, Taco Bell Asia-Pacific MD, told the Jakarta Post.
Indonesia’s first Taco Bell restaurant is in Senopati, South Jakarta, a trendy area for younger customers.
“The Indonesian consumer always craves new and unique experiences and [by] utilising our expertise in the fast-food retail segment, we believe that Taco Bell will be a huge success,” said Hendra Yuniarto, PT Fast Food Indonesia, GM of marketing.
