Singapore taxi company ComfortDelGro has partnered with Lazada to allow consumers to book a taxi from within the marketplace’s app.

Lazada says it is the first e-commerce platform in the city to integrate a taxi-booking function and believes the initiative will help boost ComfortDelGro’s prospective customer base by exposing the brand to its database of users, especially the younger demographic. 

“This will enrich the shoppertainment experience for customers who are already browsing, playing games, and watching live streams on the app, and with the added convenience of booking taxis, customers can utilise one app to shop, play and travel,” said James Chang, CEO of Lazada Singapore.

Ang Wei Neng, CEO of ComfortDelGro Taxi said the company had been looking at ways to put taxi-booking services within reach of shoppers.

“We hope that shoppers will find the experience – from shopping to travelling – a seamless one.”
