Jewellery chain Pandora will stop using mined diamonds for its products starting next year, and is introducing its new lab-created diamond collection: Pandora Brilliance. 

Identical to mined diamonds, lab-created diamonds share the same optical, chemical, thermal and physical characteristics and are graded by the same standards, according to the company. 

Initially launched in the UK, the collection is set to be rolled out in other markets next year. Pandora Brilliance, which includes rings, bangles, necklaces and earrings, comes with 14K yellow gold and 14K white gold. 

“It’s a new collection of beautifully designed jewellery featuring lab-created diamonds,” said Alexander Lacik, CEO of Pandora.

“They are as much a symbol of innovation and progress as they are of enduring beauty and stand as a testament to our ongoing and ambitious sustainability agenda.”

The launch of Pandora Brilliance also marks the brand’s first carbon neutral certified product, in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol. The company said the new collection’s launch is part of the company’s effort to make diamond products more affordable and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
