Clinique plans global rollout of successful China store concept

Beauty brand Clinique is set to roll out its ‘Clinique Laboratories’ retail concept globally after its successful launch in China.

The concept, launched in Shenzhen last December, is a collaboration between Clinique and design agency Uxus. Featuring a futuristic design, the store combines a lab environment with retail concept. Technologies are implemented throughout the store, such as facial-scanning software, a diagnostics application and Clinique Clinical Reality.

“The Clinique Laboratories concept has been designed with today’s savvy, well-researched consumer in mind, who prioritise individuality and self-expression above all else,” said George Gottl, co-founder and chief creative officer of Uxus.

“Each zone within the retail space invites play and interaction and is geared towards providing bespoke skincare and beauty solutions suited to specific needs.”

“The Clinique Laboratories retail concept juxtaposes our brand’s DNA with a fresh new look for our in-store experiences,” said Ingrid Montoya, VP global retail design at Clinique.
