Shake Shack to open 10 more stores in Mainland China with Maxim’s

Shake Shack is set to expand its presence in Mainland China under its partnership with Maxim’s Caterers.

Shake Shack China aims to launch 10 Shacks in new locations across the territory by 2031, including those in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou. Besides launching in new territories, Maxim’s Caterers has also committed to increase Shake Shack store number in China to 79 by 2031.

“China is incredibly fast paced, dynamic and remains our fastest growing international market,” said Michael Kark, chief global licensing officer of Shake Shack.

The burger chain currently operates 16 stores in the country. This year has seen Shake Shack entering Macau and Shenzhen, with Hangzhou coming later.

“The rapid growth of Shake Shack in East, North and South China has demonstrated the high trust and support of our fans in the country,” said Michael Wu, chairman and MD of Maxim’s Caterers Limited.

“Maxim’s and Shake Shack adhere to a friendly and cooperative relationship and will continue to explore a more comprehensive expansion plan into 2031.”

Jointly owned by Dairy Farm International and Hong Kong Caterers, Maxim’s Caterers is behind the Starbucks businesses in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
