Ikea to open first mall store in Indonesia

Ikea Indonesia plans to launch its first store inside a shopping mall at Mall Taman Anggrek in West Jakarta, introducing a new concept.

Scheduled to open its doors to the public next year, Ikea Mall Taman Anggrek will span more than 10,000sqm and two stories of the mall, offering customers who live in the center of Jakarta and its surroundings access to a range of home living furniture and products.

“The construction of the Ikea Mall Taman Anggrek store is our concrete step towards realising the Ikea vision which is to create a better everyday life for the many people,” said Patrik Lindvall, president director of PT Rumah Mebel Nusantara (Ikea Indonesia).

“Ikea Indonesia continues to strive to expand accessibility and come closer to reach our customers who are spread across various regions.”

The new Ikea store will also provide a pick-up point for customers to collect their online purchases.

“We really hope this can increase customer enthusiasm for practical shopping in the midst of pandemic and can provide inspiration for families who want to realise their dream homes and furniture,” said the GM of Mall Taman Anggrek, Justin Chew.
