Japanese eyewear brand, Owndays, is taking its premium concept store to Singapore’s Takashimaya shopping centre, the second store of its kind in the city state – and the world.

Scheduled to open its doors to the public this Friday (May 20), the store will be home to a series of made-in-Japan eyewear and premium ophthalmic lenses curated exclusively for the premium concept. The brand said the design will follows the concept of “Japanese Luxury”, which was previously introduced at Marina Bay Sands last year.

“The new store features a distinct Japanese-styled aesthetic that pays homage to the origins of the brand while incorporating a touch of luxury,” the company said.

The retail floor will resemble a Zen Garden with rock arrangements, gravel, moss and shrubs. Beige wood elements will be dotted throughout the store’s interior.

“With a store that is located right in the heart of Orchard Road, it allows us to make well-designed, good quality eyewear more accessible to our customers,” said Take Umiyama, MD and COO of Owndays. “Besides, the new store is a space where we hope local consumers could enjoy a complete Japanese experience without having to physically travel to Japan.”

Owndays Takashimaya will take the brand’s store count in Singapore to 33. The company has more than 380 stores across 13 countries, including Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
