Hong Kong-based lingerie and fashion brand 6ixty8ight will launch its first location in Indonesia after seeking a retail franchise partner in the country for a year.
The store, which will be placed on the ground floor of Mall of Indonesia in Jakarta, is a collaboration between 6ixty8ight and an Indonesian retailer Erajaya Active Lifestyle.
6ixty8ight will reportedly launch its first store in September and plans to establish six more in places including Makassar and Surabaya. However, Erajaya has not confirmed the official dates yet.
Founded in 2002 by Erik Ryd, 6ixty8ight has locations across China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. The name comes from Chinese numerology, where the Cantonese pronunciation of the numerals six and eight together sounds close to the phrase ‘Forever Luck.’
The retailer launched an e-commerce store in Thailand in 2020 and also has a strategy to debut a physical location in Thailand in the future.
Last year, 6ixty8ight expanded into Southeast Asia with the opening of the first brick-and-mortar store in Vietnam, as part of a five-year franchise agreement with Thai Tuan Group, one of Vietnam’s major textile manufacturers and suppliers to the fashion industry.
