Canadian coffeehouse and restaurant chain Tim Hortons will launch its first brick-and-mortar store in Singapore on November 17, in an exclusive agreement with Marubeni’s Singapore-based subsidiary Marubeni Growth Capital Asia (MGCA).
The launch is part of the brand’s ambition to reach “hundreds” of restaurants in Southeast Asia, which was announced in February.
Located at VivoCity Mall, the location has a decor of light wood finishes and elements inspired by Canada’s famed maple trees.
Following the Philippines and Thailand, Singapore is the company’s third entry into Southeast Asia. Marubeni was also reported to be in talks with Tim Hortons Asia Pacific about expanding the chain into Malaysia and Indonesia.
Nikkei Asia reported earlier this year that Marubeni plans to open stores in Indonesia in fiscal year 2024, with a revenue target of US$300 million.
Tim Hortons will open its first site in South Korea’s Gangnam, through a master franchise arrangement with local quick-service restaurant group BKR, next month.
