Indian jeweller Tanishq opens twin Texas stores

Indian jewellery retailer Tanishq is expanding its footprint in the US by opening two new stores in Houston and Frisco, Texas.

The store in Frisco spans more than 5000sqft while the Houston location covers 3800sqft. Both stores offer more than 2000 designs in 18 and 22 KT gold and diamond jewellery, as well as solitaires and coloured stones.

“Tanishq is a rich story that spans almost 30 years and the name was crafted in conjunction of two words. In Sanskrit, Tan – means body, and Nishq, meaning gold ornament, when combined came to signify an ornament that adds to the beauty and elegance of women,” said CEO Kuruvilla Markose.

“With over 410 stores, we have now opened two more in the state of Texas bringing artfully crafted jewellery to the Indian diaspora residing in Houston and Frisco. As a true Tata brand, we aim to delight our customers and welcome endless visitors from all over the world to come enjoy magic behind these designs crafted by our designers and artisans.”

Tanishq has been available in the US market via e-commerce for over two years and established its first physical store in New Jersey in January of this year.

The brand aims to serve the Indian American community, with Texas having an Indian American population of 450,000, the second largest in the country. Through these new sites, the business plans to broaden access to its fine jewellery products, including its collections, Dharohar and Tales of Mystique.
