US outerwear brand Woolrich Outdoor Label has launched its first flagship store in Japan, exhibiting the brand’s vintage-inspired line.

The design of the store, located in the Daikanyama district, was inspired by the idea of balancing the “quiet of nature with the busy pace of modern life”.

The two-story location has a minimalist design with wood tones flowing throughout, created and fitted out in partnership with Rikiya Burioka’s Mobley Works, a woodworking factory. Rustic oak wood and plaster are combined with wool for the walls, which are bathed in natural light.

Woolrich was founded in Pennsylvania in 1830 to manufacture fabric for the spouses of hunters, loggers, and trappers.

Woolrich Outdoor Label, developed in Tokyo, was originally introduced in 2018, along with the first store. The brand has stores in New York, Milan, and Tokyo.
