Singapore retail property Scotts Square, off Orchard Road, for sale

Scotts Square, a boutique retail mall off Orchard Road in Singapore, is now up for sale.

Developer and operator Wharf Estates Singapore has tapped Savills Singapore as the marketing agent for the sale.

The mall is integrated within a mixed-use development with two luxury high-rise residential towers and has a gross floor area of about 131,000sqft.

A one-minute walk from the Orchard MRT station the property is at the exit of a pedestrian underpass connecting Ion Orchard, Wheelock Place, Shaw House and Tangs Plaza.

“The prime Orchard Road precinct includes a small number of properties where ownerships is tightly held by REITs, large developers, and a few private owners,” said Jeremy Lake, MD of investment sales and capital markets at Savills Singapore. “The opportunity to buy a freehold flagship retail property is very rare and we expect strong interest from buyers.

“Post-Covid, we have seen an increased interest from regional ultra-high net worth buyers who like to invest in Singapore because it is a safe haven, and they like to invest here as part of their wealth preservation strategy.”

The price guide for the property is S$450 million (US$338.6 million) and submissions of expressions of interest will close on February 6.
