Prada has reopened its renovated five-storey monobrand boutique on Osaka’s Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street, more than a decade after it first opened in 2013.
Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the store features an exterior of alternating gold and silver metal fins inspired by the kinetic art of French-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez. Its facade changes in appearance with the light and the movement of people passing by.
The vertical layout connects the floors through ceiling openings, leading to a skylight at the top of the building.
At the same time, pale green rooms, illuminated wall shelving, and patterned flooring create distinct display areas across the different categories.
The interiors use a mix of materials, including black-and-white checkerboard marble, green fabric walls, polished steel, and crystal details.
Inside, the renovated boutique combines women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, footwear, and accessories, alongside the brand’s Eternal Gold fine jewellery collection.
