Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with the Redress Design Award to promote sustainability and nurture new talent.
The Redress Design Award 2024 First Prize winner will work on a sustainable design project for retail with the Tommy Hilfiger design team, getting important industry experience and expanding their knowledge of sustainable fashion.
The competition invites designers from around the world to submit their circular and sustainable fashion designs by 15 March.
“Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries. Left unabated, pollution and waste are set to worsen. We urgently need to accelerate circular fashion, which is the best way to let fashion thrive without costing the earth,” said Christina Dean, founder of Redress Design Award.
“Working from our Hong Kong headquarters, and with our Asia focus, we want to redress – to remedy and set right – fashion, by collaborating with bold fashion brand businesses and brilliant designer talent to create the fashion industry of the future, right now.”
Tommy Hilfiger is working on programming and collaborations that contribute to sustainability under the motto “Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All”.
Redress Design Awards, started with Timberland, now includes the newest module ‘Design for Recyclability,’ which will be released on January 23 and includes insights from Jessica Wei, senior director of sustainability at Tommy Hilfiger Asia Pacific.
