Chinese brand Mellower Coffee has closed its operations in Vietnam permanently, after four years in the market.

“With a heavy heart, we have to share with you … Mellower Coffee has been unable to continue to operate,” Mellower Coffee wrote in a social media post.

Mellower Coffee established its first location in Vietnam in 2019, on the first floor of the Deutsches Haus building on Le Duan Street in Ho Chi Minh City. Following that, the brand opened another branch in a high-profile location at The Metropolitan Building in District 1, replacing a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store.

Mellower Coffee is a Chinese specialty coffee brand founded in 2011. The company has more than 50 locations in Chinese cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Shenzhen, and offshore in Singapore and South Korea.

The brand has told Vietnamese customers it will arrange for the return of the membership card credits to customers’ bank accounts. Mellower Coffee will also give customers a gift as a souvenir in exchange for the acquired points in their account.
