US-based fried chicken chain Texas Chicken will leave Thailand after nine years in the market.
The fast food chain said in a Facebook post that it would close all of its outlets across the country this month without providing any particular reason.
“Time to say goodbye to Texas Chicken after 9 years of delicious memories,” Texas Chicken wrote on its Facebook.
Texas Chicken operates in Thailand in collaboration with franchise partner PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (PTTOR), which owns the Amazon cafe chain.
Also known as Church’s Chicken, the chain was founded in 1952 by George W Church and marketed outside of America as Texas Chicken. It is one of the world’s largest fast-food businesses.
It has more than 1500 locations in 23 countries and expects to increase system revenues from $1.4 billion to more than $2 billion by 2028.
