New Balance’s flagship store in Japan, New Balance Harajuku, has been renovated, approaching its 10th anniversary.
One of only three flagship stores for the brand – the others are in London and Boston – the Tokyo store reopened on December 5.
Inside, it features a signature floor with ‘The Ohtani Signature Collection’, dedicated to Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani. Subsequent floors will feature performance wear, lifestyle ranges, and ‘Made in USA’ apparel and footwear.
New Balance Harajuku will be staffed with newly created ‘Flagship Communicators’ – store staff who will not be selling products, but will be available to answer any questions or concerns customers may have, New Balance said.
There will generally be one Flagship Communicator stationed on both the first and fourth floors.
