Singapore retail sales jump 5.8 per cent in November

Singapore retail sales – excluding motor vehicles – improved 5.8 per cent in November, marking the biggest increase yet in 2025.

According to the Department of Statistics, the estimated total retail sales value was about SG$3.9 billion (US$3 billion), of which 19.3 per cent were from online. 

On a seasonally adjusted basis, November’s retail sales rose 0.8 per cent compared to October.

By sector, sales of recreational goods, watches and jewellery, and cosmetics, toiletries and medical goods rose between 11.4 per cent and 13.9 per cent year-on-year during the period.

Apparel and footwear, supermarkets and hypermarkets, Mini-marts and convenience stores, furniture and household equipment, and computer and telecommunications equipment also recorded uplifts between 6.1 per cent and 9.4 per cent.

In contrast, petrol service stations and retailers of food and alcohol saw declines of 6.7 per cent and 3.1 per cent, respectively.

Sales of food and beverage services increased 2.5 per cent in November, compared to the 2.4 per cent increase in October.

The total sales value of F&B services in November was estimated at SG$1 billion, of which 24.8 per cent were from online.
