The Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi-owned ThaiBev is considering selling the largest KFC franchise business in Thailand, according to reports from Bloomberg.

Operated by The QSR of Asia, the KFC business began when the subsidiary acquired 240 restaurants from Yum Restaurants International for around US$335 million in 2017.

Now, more than 500 outlets across Thailand are in QSR’s portfolio, making it the largest in the country.

The producer of Chang, ThaiBev, has seen a 21.7 per cent drop in its profits, according to its most recent yearly fiscal disclosure.

Reuters reported that this decline in profit came due to costs associated with ongoing restaurant expansion.

Bank of America Corp has been enlisted to help ThaiBev assess interest in any potential transactions. No sale is guaranteed at this time.
