Siam Piwat is expanding beyond Bangkok with plans for a major retail, entertainment and tourism destination in Phuket, scheduled to open in 2029.

The project, dubbed IconPhuket, will form part of Synthesis Ark Phuket, a larger mixed-use development by CV Group spanning more than 500 rai (80 hectares). The development is planned to include residential, hotel, office, education, wellness and lifestyle components.

IconPhuket will feature 12 attractions, with around one-third of the project dedicated to attractions and entertainment and more than 40 per cent allocated to green and open spaces.

The company said the destination will showcase products, food and cultural experiences from Thailand’s 14 southern provinces, with local businesses and communities expected to play a role in the project.

Siam Piwat, which operates Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery in Bangkok and is a co-owner of IconSiam, expects IconPhuket to attract between 80,000 and 100,000 visitors a day once fully operational.

“As The Game Changer, IconPhuket will strengthen Phuket and Southern Thailand’s competitiveness, unlock new opportunities in investment, tourism, and the creative economy, reinforce the region’s position as a leading global destination, and establish a new icon for Southern Thailand,” said Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat.

The development is Siam Piwat’s first major project outside Bangkok and extends its focus on destination-led retail, combining shopping, entertainment and tourism.
