Art mall opens in Shanghai

K11 Concepts Limited has opened its first art mall in China – the K11 Art Mall in Shanghai.

Shanghai K11 Art Mall is the tallest building on Huaihai Rd. With 38,000 sqm in retail area and 70,000 sqm of office space, Shanghai K11 opens 100 per cent leased.

It has 120 tenants, one third in the food and beverage industry and the rest mainly selling fashion and accessories. It provides venue for art exhibitions and creative performances, which make the mall an art playground.

“Shanghai K11 Art Mall is our brand’s first art mall in the mainland which merges art appreciation, experience of humanity and environmental consciousness, as well as shopping,” said Adrian Cheng, founder and chairman of K11.

Cheng said the company plans to open 10 more malls in the next few years in Shenyang, Wuhan, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Guiyang, Guanggu, Qingdao, Haikou and Ningbo.

K11 Concepts Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-based New World Development Company Limited.

The original K11 mall is located in Hong Kong.
