Uniqlo confirms flagship site

Japanese fast fashion giant, Uniqlo, will open its first Australian store at Melbourne Emporium later this year.

The 3000sqm four level flagship will anchor the Lonsdale St site, which is currently under development.

The CFS Retail Property Trust Group, which has a $575 million share of the Emporium project, confirmed the deal at its March quarter update yesterday, reports the Australian Financial Review.

CFS fund manager, Michael Gorman, said “solid progress” had been made with the construction and leasing on Emporium.

“Uniqlo’s commitment is further confirmation of the world class nature of this development,” Gorman said.

Other retailers confirmed to be opening at the new look Emporium include Lululemon, Marc’s, Saba, and M.J Bale.
