Chinese hypermarket operator Sun Art is bucking the slowdown in China’s FMCG sector. Sun Art Retail has reported net profit during the first half rose 8.5 per cent to 1.7 billion yuan ($276.2 million) on turnover growth of 7.9 per cent to 48.04 billion yuan. Sun Art is still the leading company in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market in China, says Kantar Worldpanel. Sun Art’s profit surges

China’s leading hypermarket operator Sun Art Retail Group has reported a 26 per cent jump in profit for the nine months to September. Sun Art, which operates hypermarket brands RT-Mart and Auchan, said net profit rose to 2.18 billion yuan ($357.8 million) on 11.7 per cent revenue growth. RT-Mart goes online

Supermarket chain RT-Mart is to sell luxury goods online. The chain owned by Sun Art Retail Group has collaborated with Taiwan External Trade Development Council to launch a shopping site dedicated to selling luxury products. The shopping site to be called Feiniuwang slated for October launch will also sell Taiwanese goods, it says.
