Setia City set to open

The first stage of Malaysia’s newest shopping centre – Setia City Mall – opens this Thursday.

Setia City Mall is anchored by a 120,000 sqft Parkson department store, a Fitness First gym, Harvey Norman, MPH Bookstore, Daiso, Courts and the very first Urbanfresh supermarket.

A Golden Screen Cinema complex and Wangsa Bowl will be open in late June.

Construction of the centre, described as a holistic lifestyle destination, commenced in 2009. The mall includes a 10.5 acre park, alfresco dining precinct, water jet plaza, children’s play facilities and a range of local and international retailers. Setia City Mall is located in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, just off the NKVE.

Fashion retailers include Uniqlo, Zara, Guess, Esprit, La Senza, Aldo, Nichii, Padini Concept Store, FOS and Brands Outlet. Dining retailers include Delicious, Sakura Kristal, TGI Friday’s, Starbucks, Carl’s Jnr, Subway, Sushi Tei, McDonalds, KFC, Papa Rich and Dragon-i. Other retailers at the mall include Machines, Petsmore.com, The Body Shop, Caring Pharmacy, Pandora and Royal Selangor.

Robert Spinks, Setia City Mall’s development director, said that from the outset the centre was designed to be a destination for all and a place that meets the changing needs and heightened expectations of shoppers.

Philippa Holmes, Setia City Mall’s GM, described the centre as a destination for the community, a place where people can spend time with family and friends, shop, dine, play and be entertained.

“Our team is ready with open arms. Come one, come all.”

A joint venture between S P Setia and the Asian Retail Investment Fund, a wholesale fund managed by global property and infrastructure group, Lend Lease, the mall has been built using a mix of exceptional local knowledge and international best practice.

The centre has a website and a Facebook presence.
