Indian jeweller debuts in Singapore

Gitanjali Group, India’s jewellery manufacturer and retailer, has moved into Singapore, opening its first store Leading Italian Jewels in the Raffles Hotel.

The store, spread across 600 sqft, offers a blend of high-end Italian jewellery brands such as Stefan Hafner, La Nouvelle Bague, IO SI, Porrati, Valentine Milano and more.

Mehul Choksi, CMD, Gitanjali Group, said the new store puts the customers at ease while they browse through the range of “high quality Italian jewellery which is fashionable, stylish and one of its kind”.

“We have always believed that wearing great pieces of jewellery makes a woman look and feel beautiful. This elegant store will not only draw the locals here but will also appeal to those visiting Singapore.”

Gitanjali Group, with an annual turnover of over US$2.5 billion, owns and distributes eight out of the top ten jewellery brands in India including Gili, Nakshatra, Asmi, D’damas, Sangini, Diya, Nizam and Parineeta. At an international level, Gitanjali enjoys direct access to the US retail market through 111 high-end stores under Samuels Jewelers which was acquired by the group in 2006.

The group has also taken the lead in introducing well known Italian jewellery to the Indian market which includes the acquisition of Italian brands – Valente, Stefan Hafner, Nouvelle Bague, IO SI and Porrati.
