Y-3 arrives in the Philippines

Y-3, a fashion label created by Japanese Yohji Yamamoto in partnership with Adidas, has opened its first store in the Philippines.

The 95sqm boutique is located in the upmarket Bonifacio Global City. The store carries the full Y-3 collection starting with the Spring/Summer 2012 season for men and women, footwear and accessories.

Y-3’s range combine Yohji Yamamoto’s signature sense of style and partner Adidas’ expertise and innovation in sport.

The stores have been designed to follow Y-3’s global signature retail concept, characterised by a contemporary white, black and orange minimalist style.

The Y stands for Yohji Yamamoto. The 3 represents Adidas’ three signature stripes. Label Y-3 signifies the bond between the two.

“We live in a sport and body conscious age and it will continue to develop in this direction. The high-end fashion athletic business has not reached its peak yet,” said Hermann Deininger, CMO Adidas sport style and performance divisions.

“More such collaborations could be possible but Y-3 has an advantageous position, it has created a niche, being the originator of this market segment.”

The first Y-3 monobrand stores opened in 2004 in Tokyo. Its global presence is spread in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, the US and now in the Philippines.
