Sands Cotai expands retail line-up

Sands Cotai Central will unveil 38 new retailers on September 20, when the integrated resort at the centre of the Cotai Strip opens the second phase of its latest development.

The expansion comes on the heels of last month’s celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Cotai Strip, which was created by the opening of sister resort The Venetian Macao.

The expanded retail offer includes some boutiques new to Macao: Maryling (luxury women’s fashion), Oysho (lingerie and casual wear from Spain) and Liu Jo (ready-to-wear women’s fashion from Italy). It also sees the return of Ralph Lauren to the Cotai Strip.

New Horizon is also joining the mix of retailers, as Macao’s largest Apple authorised reseller with a store of about 4200 sqft.

With the new store openings, Shoppes Cotai Central will offer a total of 70 retailers, with plans to expand to over 90 by early 2014. A planned footbridge will allow the integration of all the retail facilities at the adjacent developments – of Shoppes Grand Canal at The Venetian Macao, Shoppes at Four Seasons at The Plaza Macao and Shoppes Cotai Central at Sands Cotai Central. Together the malls will feature some 600 duty-free shops to choose from, spanning the full spectrum of shopping choices, from family to high-end luxury.

Gourmands will enjoy their introduction to the Koufu food court, which is also making its Macao debut. Already a successful concept in Singapore, Koufu combines Singapore coffee shop traditions with modern food court. Located on Level 3 of Shoppes Cotai Central, it will provide 23 authentic Pan-Asian and international cuisine choices.

“Our visitors will find an expanded choice in shopping and dining, conveniently located at the absolute centre of the very best offerings on the Cotai Strip – accommodation, entertainment, gaming, meetings and conventions, and of course retail and dining,” said David Sylvester, senior VP of retail, Las Vegas Sands.
