IWC opens new Hong Kong boutique

IWC Schaffhausen has opened a new boutique at Pacific Place Mall in Hong Kong.

Following the success of the IWC flagship boutique at 1881 Heritage, the new boutique provides yet another opportunity for customers to experience IWC’s product families in Hong Kong.

The 52 sqm boutique features a design concept which unites the architecture and styling of the six product families – Pilot’s Watches, Portuguese, Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Da Vinci, and Portofino – within one corporate bracket representing the brand.

“These surroundings provide a perfect new home for IWC Schaffhausen’s exquisite timepieces,” said IWC CEO Georges Kern.

Two distinct moods are created with the use of material: the technical mood represents IWC’s engineering heritage and is translated into shades of white, grey and black with accents of brushed and polished metal; while the warm mood in the lounges represents the product worlds of IWC and is brought to life through different shades of wood, soft rugs and fabrics, as well as through chrome accents.

Another major attraction for visitors and watch aficionados is the range of editions exclusively available in IWC boutiques.

To celebrate the new boutique, IWC exhibits the Pilot’s Watch family. More than 70 years of this family’s history are highlighted, ranging from the very first Pilot’s Watches of the 1930s and 1940s to the 2012 collection.

The exhibition revisits milestones such as the very first Special Pilot’s Watch from 1936 and the Big Pilot’s Watch from 1940 – the biggest wristwatch ever manufactured for military service. Then came the Mark 11 from 1948, originally built for the Royal Air Force and the official service watch for more than 30 years. Together with the 2012 Pilot’s Watch novelties, this exhibition is presented exclusively at Garden Court, Pacific Place Mall from October 26 to November 4.
