Carolina Herrera opens first Japan store

Venezuelan-American designer Carolina Herrera has added Japan to its growing list of international markets.

The designer has opened its first boutique in the country in Tokyo’s Ginza district. While the three-level boutique is modelled after its boutiques worldwide, it features some Japanese touches such as cloth wall coverings, sculptures and lamps.

“It’s as if it was Carolina Herrera’s house or apartment in Tokyo. That’s the idea behind this new store,” said a spokesperson for the brand.

The boutique offers spring/summer collections for men and women, accessories and luggage.

“The Japanese are very sophisticated, they know fashion and appreciate quality.”

Carolina Herrera says it will open boutiques in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in the next few months.

The designer currently has a presence in Asia through its stores in Singapore, Seoul and Shanghai and now Japan.
