TheHallyu arrives in Indonesia

Korean fashion e-store TheHallyu has expanded to Indonesia by opening an Indonesian-language version of the site, reports Tech In Asia

Founder Kim Min-soo decided to take the e-store to Indonesia after a positive market assessment.

“Based on research results, the Korean wave in Indonesia is larger than in neighbouring countries, not only from the scope of entertainment such as music and drama, but also fashion and lifestyle,” said Min-soo.

TheHallyu has partnered with digital intelligence company Inlite Indonesia to offer its products which are made and shipped from Korea.

The site initially offer women’s fashion items only, however, it promises to offer men’s fashion products in a couple of weeks. Currently, it sells more than 5000 products.

Products are priced at an average 300,000 rupiah (US$31). Target customers are those aged between 18-35.

For resellers and wholesalers who spend US$500 and US$750, TheHallyu offers 15 and 20 per cent discounts, respectively.

It accepts mode of payment through Paypal. It also accepts credit cards, however, customers need to use US dollar currency. More payment options are to be added as the business continues, it says.
