Jingdong opens online supermarket

Chinese B2C company Jingdong has opened an online supermarket to meet the daily needs of Chinese consumers.

The online supermarket offers more than 5000 grocery items including packaged foods, beverages and snacks. Customers can purchase groceries in quantities as small as a single can of soda, and receive speedy, reliable delivery, says the company.

The online supermarket also offers cash on delivery payment.

Jingdong started its operations focusing on computers, communications products and consumer electronics and has since expanded into home appliances, books, apparel and general merchandise – and now groceries.

Currently, Jingdong offers more than 9 million SKUs through its B2C direct sales and online marketplace platform.
