Lotte goes from airport to downtown

Korea’s Lotte Duty Free will open its first downtown store in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 22.

The 5000 sqm duty free store will offer more than 170 brands across categories including cosmetics, fragrances, fashion, liquor and more.

Each category will have its own dedicated zones to facilitate customer orientation.

The store will also feature ‘Star Avenue’ area, an entertainment concept in-store where hand printings of Korean stars will be displayed and fans can conduct picture-taking and autograph sessions with their favorite stars.

“Based on the successful achievement of Lotte Duty Free in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, we will make Lotte Duty Free become the mecca for shoppers who love the ‘Korean Wave’ in Indonesia,” said Lotte Duty Free CEO Won-Jun Lee.

Lotte Duty Free says it will work with travel agencies, banks and airlines to draw more customers to the store.

“The Indonesian market is in the grip of shopping mall fever. Shoppers go to downtown malls or visit nearby countries for shopping.”
