H&M Indonesia opens doors

The wait is over for Indonesians as Swedish retailer H&M has finally opened its doors in Jakarta.

H&M opened its first Indonesian store at Gandaria City shopping mall. The 2400 sqm store spans two floors and carries a complete range of fashion and accessories for men, women and children.

“It is exciting to have the opportunity to bring the Indonesian customers diverse fashion to dress each of their personalities. We see great potential for H&M to expand in Indonesia,” says Sanveer Gill, country manager, PT Hindo, the franchised operator of H&M Indonesia.

The retailer recently opened its 3000th store worldwide in Chengdu, China.

Next year, H&M will enter Australia with first store opening planned for Melbourne. In 2015, it will open its first South African store, it says.
