Radioshack expands in Malaysia

Radioshack, a retailer of mobile technology products and services, has opened a new store in Malaysia in Klang Valley.

The store at Bangsar Shopping Centre is the eighth Radioshack opened in Malaysia since its launch in September 2012.

Tan Sri Vincent Tan, founder of the Berjaya Group, Radioshack’s master franchisee in Malaysia, intends to open at least 500 stores in Malaysia and in other Asian countries as well.

“Our partners at Berjaya have helped our commitment to develop the brand in the region. They have helped our franchises become a destination for growing technology needs in this region,” said RadioShack US’s senior VP for franchise, Marty Amschler.

“This store delivers a fun, engaging environment where consumers can browse, ask questions and experience technology in a new way, which is exactly what tech-savvy shoppers are seeking.”

RadioShack’s retail network includes approximately 4700 company-operated stores in the US and Mexico, 1500 wireless phone centers in the US, and more than 1100 dealer and franchise locations worldwide.
