Pizza Hut plans Indonesian expansion

Pizza Hut plans to grow its Indonesian footprint with additional outlets to open this year.

Pizza Hut said Indonesia, where it plans to expand by 20 per cent annually, is one of its fastest growing markets globally.

Having opened 22 new outlets in 2013, Pizza Hut now has 295 outlets in the country. And this year, it plans to add 25 new restaurants. It will also introduce 28 new products, it says.

“We want to be known for our pizza and more,” said Pizza Hut Indonesia president and director Stephen McCarthy.

The Indonesian pizza market is currently pegged between US$400 million and US$450 million in retail sales for large and medium chains, says PT Bain Indonesia partner Nader Stefano Elkhweet.
