Indonesian online retailer hits Singapore

Indonesia’s curated e-commerce lifestyle store, Shopdeca, has expanded into Singapore.

Shopdeca was established in July 2013 in Jakarta to offer unique design products from Southeast Asian and international designers and brands. Offerings range from women’s and men’s apparel, footwear, accessories, jewellery, tech gadgets, home living, novelties and more.

The Singapore launch follows its acquisition of Eriin, A Singaporean online store selling curated women’s clothing and accessories. To ensure a smooth transition, Eriin’s customers will be redirected to the Shopdeca Singapore website over the next three months.

Its Singapore expansion was fuelled by new investment from Singaporean company Polaris Digimedia, which is taking a 33.5 per cent equity stake for US$1 million.

“Our investment in Shopdeca is part of our strategy to expand beyond telco and IT retailing in Singapore and we believe that the lifestyle segment will grow in the region in the coming years,” said Peter Ang, CEO of Polaris.

Shopdeca is also backed by East Ventures.
