Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers plans expanding into China’s e-commerce market.
The 100-year old Indian jeweller has launched an e-commerce venture called Za Amor, catering to high-end customers abroad.
Amarendra Vummidi, who runs Vummidi Bangaru with his brother, says they will use the venture to expand into the Chinese market.
“China has its own issues if you want to set up a retail store. But its luxury market is great,” said Amarendra.
Za Amor is expected to generate Rs100 crore ($17 million) sales in three years.
The jeweller also plans to expand into the US, it says.
