Starbucks opens 50th Indian store

Coffee giant Starbucks has taken its tally of outlets in India to 50.

The 50th outlet at Phoenix Market City at Velachery in Chennai reiterates the company’s commitment to the Indian market, it says.

With the new opening, Starbucks is now present in five Indian cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and now Chennai.

The JV says the next city of expansion will be Hyderabad.

Starbucks entered the Indian market in October 2012 by forging a joint venture with Tata Global Beverages.
