Muji eyes India

Japanese lifestyle retailer Muji plans expanding into India by setting up a joint venture in 2015.

Muji aims to set up its first India store by 2016 to offer everything from stationery to kitchen utensils and fashion items.

Its Japanese peer Uniqlo also plans to source garments and open stores in India.

Owned by Ryohin Keikaku Co, Muji, known for its minimalist design, has more than 260 stores in Japan and 250 abroad.
