Berli Jucker turns online

Thai retail giant Berli Jucker is expanding into the online market.

The company plans to invest up to 100 million baht ($3.1 million) to build an e-commerce platform, which it hopes to launch this year. It says it will offer consumer products and books.

BJC has also collaborated with My Biz International Co to commence a direct selling business.

Sanchai Thiewprasertkul, senior VP for consumer products, says: “Direct sales are considered a suitable way to promote skincare products, as sales representatives have time to explain product details to customers.”

Berli Jucker is also the owner of Metro Vietnam after buying all 19 cash and carry stores in the country for €655 million.
