Watsons targets 2200 China stores

Health and beauty retailer Watsons plans to accelerate its Chinese store roll-out.

The chain, owned by Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa, plans to boosts its network from more than 1800 stores to 2200 by the end of 2014.

It says it will focus this time in third and fourth tier cities.

Watsons also plans to launch an e-commerce service to cash in on the growing demand for online shopping and home delivery.
