The four-strong chain of Kuoni Travel retail stores is up for sale.
Kuoni Travel is one of Switzerland’s best-known travel retail brands, but has struggled to compete in its home market against the rapidly growing online bookings agencies. It decided in January to close all of its retail travel outlets in its home market and has now placed its overseas interests in India, China and Hong Kong on the market.
Kuoni Travel has retail stores at Two Landmark East, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, and Shatin.
“The travel market environment is likely to remain fast-changing, requiring travel companies to choose distinct development priorities,” the company said in a statement back in January.
The company will now focus on wholesale operations, group travel and visa processing in Europe.
