Travellers who shop at Hong Kong International Airport and spend more than $1000 can now have their purchases delivered to their home or office for free.
It’s one of a raft of promotions aimed at boosting traveller spending in the airport, running for varying times between now and the end of August.
HKIA connects with about 180 destinations around the world, including more than 45 in China’s Mainland. Last year it achieved record breaking 63.3 million passengers – a massive pool of potential retail shoppers.
In a new Hong Kong International Airport Celebrates Summer promotion launched this week, the airport is offering a Cash-back deal from July 31 to August 11. Travellers spending over HK$2000, HK$5000 and HK$10,000 by electronic payment can redeem a HKIA Cash Coupon of HK$100, HK$200 and HK$600 respectively. Travellers who use their UnionPay card to make purchases of over HK$5000 and HK$10,000 receive an extra HK$100 HKIA Cash Coupon.
Hongkongers spending more than $1000 can have their purchases delivered – but only locally.
The airport is also continuing its lucky draw program launched in mid June in conjunction with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Until August 31, travellers entering Hong Kong through the airport can participate in the Instant Mega Draw and before they leave they can also enter the Return to Hong Kong like a Millionaire draw to win prizes, including a luxury return-trip to Hong Kong.
The promotions are also featured on the airport’s Facebook site.
