Celine Hong Kong opens at IFC Mall

Fashion brand Celine has opened its new store in IFC Mall at Central.
Located on the second floor, the 2300 sqft space is an adaption of Celine’s London flagship store on Mount St.
Fashion website Butterboom.com describes the interior of the store as “minimalistic” with three distinct areas: the entrance, a bag area and a combined section for Ready to Wear and shoes.
“The space is modern, warm and spacious with lots of geometrical shapes in its design.”
Amongst the main features of the interior is the floor which comprises nine types of marble in different colours that blend into each other creating an effect that’s both geometrical and modern.
Shelves and displays are made of unpolished marble and stone cubes and the ceiling has a raw, ‘unfinished’ texture. Adding to the modern day aesthetic, display cases and brass lamps are made by Danish artist FOS.
To celebrate the opening of the long-awaited store, Celine recreated its creative director Phoebe Philo’s classic box-like bag with a ‘Hong Kong IFC’ stamp on the inner lambskin lining.
The special-edition is coloured burgundy and made of exotic python skin. Not only is the hand-boarding technique worth noting, but also the elegance and timeliness of the design. Limited to just 25 pieces, each bag will be sold at HK$43,500, exclusively at the new store.
