Coccinelle focuses on Asian expansion

Italian accessories brand Coccinelle says Asia Pacific remains its priority as it expands its retail network internationally.

The company opened a 45 sqm boutique at Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2, landside, in partnership with Guangzhou Ritz Management last month.

“We are pleased to open a boutique at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and we thank Guangzhou Ritz Management for all their efforts and support,” said Emanuele Mazziotta, head of travel retail with Coccinelle.

The new boutique has been finished with the latest, sophisticated store concept, whose steel wall displays and fumé mirrors give the store a timeless elegance.

“Together with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport shop, this opening is another important milestone for our expansion plan into China domestic and travel retail channels. Shanghai is a global financial center and an international transport hub.”

November also saw the brand open stores in Sheremetyevo International Airport Terminal D and Terminal F in Moscow, Russia, as well as stores onboard cruise liners and ferries in Scandinavia, part of a wave of openings last month.

“Asia Pacific is a focus region for the company but we want to maintain and further develop the business in Europe and Russia, where we have just opened two additional locations in Moscow,” said Mazziotta.

“Several cruise and ferry ships have been added in Scandinavia, highlighting the importance of this new channel in travel retail for Coccinelle.”

All the new stores feature the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, with its playful colours and contrast detailing.
