Shambala going out of business

Ap Lei Chau home decor and furniture retailer Shambala is closing its doors after 20 years.
The retailer is this week holding a “Going out of business’ sale, discounting all of its stock by between 50 and 80 per cent.
“We’re slowly emptying our warehouses around the globe with new stock coming in each week. We expect to close our doors in early 2016,” the company said on its Facebook page, announcing the liquidation of $10 million worth of furniture, rugs and accessories, including a new shipment of vintage leather bags.
Fashion and lifestyle blog Sassy Hong Kong describes Shambala as a “treasure trove of unique furniture, rugs and accessories”.
“We will be sorry to bid farewell to this store.”
Shambala stocked wooden and handicraft offerings from Thailand, India, Nepal and Tibet, including a sleek rosewood collection.
Shambala Furniture is located on the second floor of Horizon Plaza, at 2 Lee Wing St, Ap Lei Chau.
Inside Retail Hong Kong has sought comment from the owners of Shambala but they had not responded by publication time. We’ll update this story when we hear from them.
